2010goodbye to will boyd media solutions
In 2006, I started my web-based work under the company name "Will Boyd Media Solutions". Yeah, I'm obviously not good with names. Under that business name I've done everything from web design to video production to social media consulting. It's time, though, to put that name to rest.
When I came up with the name, I was trying to convey a sense of professionalism and official-ness..."I am a real business...see my name." However, as I've had more experience and grown more comfortable with what I do, I've realized that when my clients hire me, they are hiring ME. I'm not some corporation with a marketing department, accounting department, and tech support. I'm just me. That's what my clients buy and that's what they get. And...it's better that way.
With that in mind, today I'm officially ending the use of the name "Will Boyd Media Solutions". From now on, I'm just me. If who I am isn't what your company is looking for, that's okay. I prefer to live and work in a way that is transparent and faithful to who I am. In the end, I think that will be a better me and a better product.
